Be Yourself  Have fun with it, Design it with Witchy symbols, inks, and stamps from scrap book stores will help make it your personal BOS

Now, find yourself a blank book, even a blank notebook will do to start. You pad the book and cover it with fabric and trims.

Traditionally, the BOS is handwritten, but in this age of technology, many are typed and printed, but writing it out allows you to put your own energies into the book

Write a blessing for the book, either put it on the inside of the cover or the first page. Bless it by the hands of the Goddess and the God

You may even sew some magickal herbs inside the cover of the book to protect it

Include in the beginning the Code of Conduct of the Wicca, Rules for being a Witch, the threefold law, and the Wiccan Rede: Harm none if you follow that path.or other prayers you like

Add a section on beginning the rite, casting the circle, how to set up the altar, and how to close the rite
Add a section on the consecration of tools and crystals
Add a list of tools, symbols, Wiccan shorthand and their meanings
Add a section on prayers, invocations, chants and songs that you might use during ritual
Add a section containing spells, and special ritual practices
Add a section on the Sabbats and Esbats and include at least one ritual for each that you will practice
Add a section on recipes for food and beverages for ritual and Sabbats
Add other sections that you may want for reference such as:
Candles, and candle crafting
Crystals, stones and scrying
The Goddess' and The Gods
The Moon (lore, magic, rituals, worship
The Sun (meaning, symbols, worship)
Herbs (list of herbs, purposes, healing)
Astrology and The Tarot
Incense and Oils
Close the book with perhaps a glossary of terms, and leave blank pages at the end to add extensions to your work.
I actually have broken this down into more than 1 BOS
My spell book is 1, my journals another each, etc, to fit my needs as they began to grow

You will find things work for you, and soon you will create and make changes to fit your liking.

  I have been making this wonderful Medicinal Pickled Garlic for years Here is the original recipe that I use. I want to share with you. I use this in recipes when I need some healing magick or just on it's own for real strength and healing. It is so good and so good for you. It takes awhile to peel all those garlic but it's well worth it, I separate each garlic into pieces and then I take a large knife and slightly smash each clove. makes it so much easier to peel each clove, I use each and every clove small and large and sperate them into the jar. Any honey will work and I buy Apple cider vinegar by the gallon because we use it for so many things. Medicinal Pickled Garlic

With cold and flu season coming up soon once again I am thinking ahead this year so I am making some medicines to have ready to fight back fast. According to Gladstar’s book, “Garlic is the herb of choice in treating colds, flu, sore throats and poor or sluggish digestion… makes a potent internal and external antiseptic, antibacterial, and antimicrobial agent effective for treating many types of infection.” That is some powerful stuff!  There is much more information in the book, it is a wonderful addition to your homesteading or prepping library. Peeled garlic cloves (enough to fill a jar) Raw apple cider vinegar Raw Local Honey Fill a mason jar with garlic cloves; use any size jar you like.  Fill the jar with apple cider vinegar to cover the garlic completely.  Place the jar in a warm place for 3-4 weeks. Medicinal Pickled Garlic ~ After 3-4 weeks, strain off the liquid(this is when you will add the honey).   Set ½ the liquid aside to use as you wish.  Rosemary Gladst

A broom dropping in front of the door means company before the day is over. Always pick up, for luck, a broom that is lying on the floor or ground. Always sweep dirt out the back door or you will sweep away your best friend. Bad luck will befall  you all  year, if you sweep on New Year's Day. Burn up the rubbish when  you sweep on New Year's Day and  you will have money throughout the new year. Carry a broom under your arm for luck. Carrying a broom over your shoulder will give you bad luck. Do not sweep immediately after the departure of a guest or you will sweep him bad luck. Dropping a broom while sweeping is the sign of a new carpet. Hitting someone with a broom means that he will go to jail before a week has passed.
