With Spring Comes Rain and a Spring Goddess

Image
Every spring time I get Spring, Fever, I can't wait for flowers to pop up and bloom, I love the baby animals, I feel extra love in my bones, I just have to get outside more than normal, cleaning inside and out too, smudging, cleansing the house, crystals, mix up new potions, plant seeds, bulbs and I can't wait to see the herbs beginning to grow once again. The newness of the earth. It's really amazing Each spring comes the rain be thankful for the rain, embrace it, ask for it, in a much needed amount, not too much, no flooding please, no tornadoes, just nice steady rain, it washes the earth, gives energy to the plants, trees and flowers to grow with vigor. Which reminds me of an article I once read, reposted for your viewing entertainment How To Be A Spring Goddess Spring is a time to stretch, yawn, awaken, reach upward, outward, flex and gravitate to the light. Good-bye barren winter and welcome to that new confidence in the air and a landscape sparkling with n...

Happy Spring I welcome you

Spring blessings to my readers out there, Here the first day of spring wasn't the nicest of days, it was chilly and we have had a little crazy weather here, in the 80's for a day then down to freezing and hearsay of rain although we haven't had near the rain that we need here in Oklahoma. I have however went forward with Spring plans and been on a cleaning and cooking kick. It started with a good cleaning of my vacuum and then a deep vacuuming of the rooms with carpets, then a good shampoo, I make my own shampoo cleaner and a room febreeze that is easy to do. I will post those recipes here. Then I did a good house cleansing with sage and lavender. Once I felt the house was cleansed throughout with a good smudge, I moved to the kitchen , giving a good wipe down to counters and dusting around. Once that was done I felt so amazing and inspired I knew I had opened the house to welcome spring in and I am ready for new things and happy days ahead. My recipe for Homemade...

Deities Of The Spring Equinox

Spring is a time of great celebration in many cultures. It's the time of year when the planting begins, people begin to once more enjoy the fresh air, and we can reconnect with the earth again after the long, cold winter. A number of different gods and goddesses from different pantheons are connected with the themes of Spring and Ostara. Asasa Ya (Ashanti): This earth mother goddess prepares to bring forth new life in the spring, and the Ashanti people honor her at the festival of Durbar, alongside Nyame, the sky god who brings rain to the fields. Cybele (Roman): This mother goddess of Rome was at the center of a rather bloody Phrygian cult, in which eunuch priests performed mysterious rites in her honor. Her lover was Attis (he was also her grandson, but that's another story), and her jealousy caused him to castrate and kill himself. His blood was the source of the first violets, and divine intervention allowed Attis to be resurrected by Cybele, with some help from Zeu...

The Spring Kitchen

Image
I love the idea of decorating the house for each season Here are some wonderful ideas for a Spring Kitchen Get inspired and decorate your kitchen, change up the decor a little with splashes of color and you can make some items with just a little inspiration and a few items Seasonal Kitchens The Spring Kitchen Spring kitchens are airy, fresh places where we feel stimulated,  energized, alive with possibilities.  The first step in making our  kitchens places of inspiration is old fashioned spring-cleaning.   Even those of us who loathe housecleaning as a tiresome, thankless,  repetitious, and endlessly boring chore can learn to enjoy the  process of marking our territory with magick. By the end of winter, the world looks a bit scruffy and neglected.   Dead leaves and fallen branches litter the ground, along with  remnants of snow pocked with grime.  Just as a gardener needs to  c...

Spring Cleaning … for Your Health!

Spring Cleaning Candlemas Spring-cleaning is ever so much easier if you do it in concert with an anti-clutter campaign. The basic rule is that every surface gets cleaned; for a little magickal boost, put some rosemary or another blessing herb in the wash water. It is important to approach this cleaning not as a tiresome chore, but as a gift to yourself and the goddess of hearth and home. Play music, work with friends, pause and appreciate the work you’ve done every so often; and finish each day with a bath and a wonderful supper. Follow the physical house cleaning with a spiritual House Cleansing and Blessing Ritual. House Cleansing And Blessing Once your home is clean and uncluttered, you may want to spiritually cleanse and bless it.... especially if any of the following apply: The house has not been purified since you moved in. There has been serious illness in the home since your last house blessing. There have been arguments or even physical violence in the house. Anyone in the ho...
