I like to find wood that calls out to me to be handcrafted into a Wand! Remember if you find a piece of wood somewhere in nature be sure to leave an offering and say a prayer of thanks. I leave pennies or different things that nature can appreciate and use back This is a large wand about 18" and 1 1/2" thick Here is a unique wood piece I found that I made into a faery wand, it is hand painted It could have a crystal point put into the end as well, I haven't decided what crystal I want to add yet. Natural Anti Inflammatory Herbs

Image
White Willow Bark White willow bark contains compounds that are similar to aspirin. This herb contains salicin and this is what provides the potent anti-inflammatory benefits. This herb is often said to be just as effective as aspirin, but it does not irritate the lining of the stomach as much. A study was conducted in Germany that looked at how 240 milligrams of white willow bark each day helped with the inflammation associated with osteoarthritis. After two full weeks of administration, study participants reported a 14 percent reduction in their pain while those who got a placebo reported that their pain increased by two percent. The general recommendation is 120 milligrams to 240 milligrams each day. This herb is not meant for everyone and the following people should avoid this herb: Pregnant or nursing women Those taking garlic, ginkgo or vitamin E supplements Those taking blood thinners Children or teenagers Those with an aspirin sensitivity or allergy Those

Lemon Balm-My Kitchen Herb of the Week

Image
Beautiful delightful uplifting Lemon Balm, grow some and go out and smell it, cut it, and drink it often. Lemon Balm, a spreading annual, smells like wonderful lemon! It is best used  fresh, but can be used dried or as an essential oil (found under its other  name, melissa). Lemon balm is cooling and soothing, but also is excellent as  an antidepressant. Smell some, pick some, add it to an iced tea brew or to a  sachet to pick up the spirits. Very good for healing, especially mental  health.   Lemon Balm is a perennial herb in the mint family Lamiaceae.  It grows to 70–150 cm tall. The leaves have a gentle lemon scent, related to mint. During summer, small white flowers full of nectar appear. These attract bees. The crushed leaves, when rubbed on the skin, are used as a repellant for mosquitos. It is claimed to have antibacterial and antiviral properties (it is effective against herpes simplex). Lemon balm should be avoided by those on thyroid medication (such
