Although defined in many ways, the aura is the energy field that surrounds all matter.  Anything that has an atomic structure, will have an aura, an energy field that surrounds it.  The atoms that animate life are more vibrant than those that make up inanimate material and thus are more easily detected and experienced.  Mystics speak of seeing lights around the heads of people but you do not have to be a mystic to see and experience aura.  Find a piece of paper and a pencil and try the questionnaire below.  If you can answer "
Yes " to one or more of the following, you have already experienced auric energy.

Go Higher Have you Experienced Aura?

8.  Do thunderstorms make you nervous or edgy?

Go higher About the Aura The aura surrounds the body in all directions.  It has three dimensions and when you are healthy, it is elliptical in shape.  The shape, colors and clarity of the colors all indicate specific things about your physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being.

Go Higher Characteristics of the Aura
1.  Each aura has its own unique frequency.
When the frequency of your aura is akin to that of anther's you are more likely to " hit it off ".  The closeness of the frequencies indicates the closeness of backgrounds, whether emotional, physical, mental or spiritual.
On the other hand, auric fields which differ greatly may cause you to dislike the person, feel agitated or uncomfortable.
However, what is in dissonance in the beginning can be resolved over time together over extended periods.

2.  Your aura will interact with the auric fields of others.

Because auric energy is an electromagnetic energy, you constantly give off fields.  Each time you interact with someone, you can exchange energies.
The more people you deal with, the greater the exchange.
Unless you are aware of this exchange, you can accumulate a great deal of auric debris during the day.  You may have strange ideas or thoughts; you may think you are going crazy.  There is nothing to be alarmed about, it has to do with the energy accumulated during the day.
We have all known people who cause us to feel drained when we are around them.  Talking with them can leave one exhausted.  These people unconsciously drain off your auric energy.

3.  The human energy field can interact with those of animals, plants and minerals.

Being around nature is cleansing to the aura.  There is a lot of truth about hugging a tree.  Trees have vibrant, dynamic energy fields and act in a dynamic, positive way with those of humans.  Pine trees interact with aura in a cleansing manner.  They absorb negative emotions, especially those of guilt ( the tree is not harmed by this, rather it fertilizes the tree ).
Crystals and stones also have an effect on the aura, but for brevity they will not be treated here.
Animals also have auras that affect you.  Petting animals has been shown to reduce blood pressure.  They have a balancing effect on the aura and stabilize your well-being.

4.  The longer and the more intimate the contact, the greater the exchange of energy.

Your own aura will leave an imprint on that which you interact with.
This can be a person, part of the environment or even an object.  The more intimate the contact, the stronger the imprint will be.  For example, if you are accustomed to sitting in a particular chair, you will imprint upon it and it will become your chair.
The more you are exposed to certain energy patterns, the more you can influence them and can be influenced by them.  If that field is stronger, the easier it can make yours into rapport with it.

5.  The aura and changes within it reflects all aspects of a person.

The colors of the aura, clarity of them and the shape of the aura provide information on the health and well-being of an individual.
Every time you have a strong emotional reaction, there is a change in your aura.  This may be in color, shape or other aspects.  The activities you involve yourself in reflect in your aura.
The colors and intensity can vary tremendously during the day.

Brown : Although thought of as reflecting a lack of energy or imbalance, this is not always so.  Brown is the color of the earth.  When it shows itself in the aura, especially in areas above the head and around the feet, it can reflect new growth.  It indicates establishing new roots and a desire to accomplish.  It can reflect industry and organization.
On the other hand, brown across the face or touching the head may indicate a lack of and a need for discrimination.  If seen in the areas of the chakras, it can indicate that those centers need to be cleaned.  Try not to jump to conclusions where brown is concerned, for it is rather hard to interpret.

Black: Black is one of the most confusing of the colors in the aura.  It is NOT indicative of death or disease.  Black is a color of protection.  It is a color that can shield an individual from outside energies.  When seen in the aura, it can reflect that the person is protecting himself.  It can also indicate that he has secrets.

1.  The colors closest to the body the physical body usually reflect physical conditions and energies.  The outer colors reflect emotional, mental and spiritual energies that could be affecting those physical colors.

2.  The clearer and more pastel the colors, the better.  Muddy, thick colors can reveal imbalances, over activity and possible problems in the area to which the color is connected.

3.  Dark colors that are also bright can indicate high energy levels.
This is not necessarily negative.

4.  There is more than one color in the aura.

5.  If you can see auras, keep in mind that you are seeing them through your own aura.  Often, the subconscious is aware of this and makes adjustments, however.

6.  Do not make judgments on people based on what you see in their auras.

7.  Use your intuition when interpreting how the aura looks.

8.  Auras change frequently.  The colors about a foot or two from the body go through many changes in a single day.  You will find, however that a person has a predominant color that stays with him through life.

Go higher Exercises The Cleansing Vortex This is an exercise for cleansing and purifying the entire auric field.
It is great to perform at the end of a day when you have interacted with many people.  It helps sweep out energy debris .  It only takes about five minutes to perform.
1.  Take a seated position and relax.  You may want to say a simply prayer or mantra as well.  Remember that this is just a guideline and you should adapt it to your own energies.

2.  About 20 feet above you, in your mind's eye, visualize a small whirlwind of crystalline white fire beginning to form.  It looks like a small, spiritual tornado, As it forms its funnel shape, visualize that it is large enough to encompass your entire auric field.  The small end of the funnel enters the crown of your head and moves down the centerline of your body.

3.  This whirlwind of spiritual fire should be seen as rotating and spinning clockwise.  As it touches your aura, see it as sucking up and burning off all of the energy debris you have accumulated.

4.  See, feel and imagine it moving down, over and through your entire aura and body.  Know that it is sweeping your energy field clean of all energy debris you have accumulated.

5.  As it moves through your body, allow this energy vortex to exit out through your feet down into the heart of the earth itself.  See the vortex as carrying this energy debris into the lower realms, where it is used to fertilize and benefit the lower kingdoms of life upon and within the planet.
