Spells for Imbolc
NOTE: I did not write this spell but I have modified it!
Maiden Healing Ritual
Perform this at the new moon. Decorate the altar with fresh flowers,
sprouts, spring water, and images of maiden goddesses. Light some white,
pink, and blue candles and some incense of your choice. Prepare a ritual
bath with lavender, saffron, and laurel. Say:
"I am Maiden, beautiful,
Renewed, Refreshed, Reborn."
Let the water drain out, and imagine all the negative emotions and
thoughts draining away from you. Sit at the altar and light the candles.
Say:
"With this flame I ignite within me
The spirit of the maiden."
Now would be a good time to either meditate, or invoke a maiden goddess
that you feel close to.
"I am whole unto myself
I am the bright maiden
Strong, invincible, free.
I am the dark maiden
Cloaked in veils and mystery.
I am the pulse of the sun
And the pull of the moon.
Flowing from one to the other
In perfect harmony.
Where I walk, no one can hinder me.
I am maiden, forever young and free."
Drink the blessed spring water. Say:
"Maiden Goddesses,
I drink of thy sweetness and strength
And am thus filled with thy spirit."
Eat some sprouts. Say:
"As this seed bursts with new life,
So am I filled with vitality."

A Spell To Get a Green Thumb
Use this spell to allow you to grow green things!
The Green Man is said to be the collective essence of Mother Nature,
expressed in all growing flora. The next time you are in the garden,
look out for his happy smiling face. Some people say that the Green man
is the Son/Lover/Father of the Earth Mother. The spirit of greenery is a
wise spirit to invoke into your life if you wish to be a successful
gardener. Try hanging a representation of the Green Man in your garden
and just watch the results!
You will need:
A Vine
Some Grasses
A Tree Leaf
Part of a Vegetable or a Herb
A Flower
A Clay Cup
Rainwater
The Spell: On one of the Equinoxes or Solstices, go out into the Garden
and gather a vine, some grasses, a tree leaf, part of a vegetable or a
herb, and a flower. Place them all in a clay cup, and pour the rainwater
over these. Let this cup stand outside for one full day, from dawn to
dawn, open to the sun. The next day, taste the water, then wash your
hands (especially your thumbs) in this water and say:
"Sun & Wind
Earth & Rain
Joy & Growing
Death & Pain
As The Green Grows
Esus Knows
My Being Glows
With Green Life
I Am Rooted In Earth
My Branches In Sky
I Engender Rebirth As I Live & Die"
Offer the rest of the Water to a place in the middle of your garden, dig
a small hole to receive the water and the soaking plant material. Cover
it with soil and plant some flowers or seeds over it.
Say:
"I Heal The Earth - Rebirth!"
Now Get to work gardening! You Have the Whole day ahead of you, O Green
Wo/man.

Spell for Imbolc.
The church renamed this festival Candlemas, as already mentioned, but I have always carried out the 3-candle spell at this time, as Bride is also the goddess of fertility, inner knowledge and inspiration. For those who don’t have the previous Imbolc newsletter, here’s what to do:
Place Spring flowers on your altar and light a white candle in honour of Brigid. Now take three more white candles (or yellow natural beeswax, the bee being sacred to the goddess herself). Make a wish on each one and then light it from the main candle. The 1st should be a universal wish, the 2nd for a friend or family member, and the 3rd is granted to you. Allow all 4 candles to burn out completely and know that your wishes are in hand and the world will be a much better place should they be granted. Simple but very effective. Remember to thank the Goddess for entering your life and for the wishes should she choose to grant them. Do this on the evening of 1st or daytime on 2nd

A House Spirit Spell
Ancient Romans honored their guardian house spirits at this time of year. To communicate with or to attract a house spirit, set a small, appealing statue in a special place in your home. Before it, place a small heatproof dish, and burn some of your favorite incense, saying: "Welcome gentle spirit, guard my home. Please guard the cradle, hearth, and every room." House spirits love attention. Leave a bit of food or burn some incense in its bowl as an offering. At least once a year, usually in January, pay special tribute by serving your family a meal in your spirit’s honor. Pork, wine, and cakes are appropriate items to serve.

Winter Pick-Me-Up Spell
On a dreary winter day, take an orange-colored candle and dress it with
carnation oil. Carnation oil is good for courage and energy. Orange is
a good color for stamina. Light the candle, and give yourself some
quiet time. Watch the flame. Inhale the scent of the oil. As you feel
your
energy return, ideas will flow. Listen to the ideas, and let the energy
of the candle and the scent carry you to your next task. If you can, as
you continue your day keep the candle with you until it burns
completely.
