• Type: Tectosilicate. 
• Zodiac: Cancer and Sagittarius. 
• Colours: Dark indigo blue with white streaks, sometimes with purplish grey markings; the amount of white can vary from little to a lot. 
• Chakra: Brow and Throat. 
• Meaning: There is something that needs to be said, but you will have to use the right words. 
• Empowerment: I welcome the growth of wisdom in my life. 
• Availability: Common. 
• Physical Benefits: Seen as useful for relieving menopausal symptoms, racing pulse or heart, high blood pressure, burns, inflammation. 
• Emotional Healing: Women should wear this crystal to come to terms with ageing issues such as loss of fertility and the empty nest syndrome. 
• Workplace: Soladite is the crystal of the wise woman and with rituals and empowerment for post-menopausal women to enter a new phase of life. 

Sodalite: Clarity and truth are brought by the alleviation of fear, calms and clears the mind.  One of the most challenging aspects of human anatomy is that the brain is divided into two hemispheres: one devoted to rational, linear thinking, the other to imagination and intuition. The human mind, when these two areas are in balance, is both capable of tremendous creativity and the ability to realize that creativity in practical, material terms. In most Western societies the rational aspects of mind are valued above those of intuition, thus subduing or stifling many creative ideas before they are born into imagination. Malachite and moss agate are two stones which help to rebalance the brain and mind. Sodalite's function is different. It is especially valuable for those who find themselves in states of mental confusion, especially when these states are intensified by emotional turmoil. Very often, when our emotions are whirling about in our heads we are tempted to seize at any decision which seems to promise that it will reduce our distress. Sodalite helps us to resist such temptation. This dark-blue stone is one of the most grounding of the blue stones, and has a natural affinity with the third eye center (between and slightly above the eyebrows). Its function is to calm the emotions and the mind and to help one view a situation and the choices which may stem from it with objectivity and detachment. This also means that it can help to quiet any doubts you may have about your ability to make a decision, i.e., it quiets the inner critic. In addition, it can assist in dissolving old mental, reactive patterns, helping you to realize that you don't have to do things the way you've always done them. Sodalite is additionally helpful for reviewing a decision once it's been made, and is believed by some to help extricate people from the coils of complicated lifestyles. If you are faced with a decision sodalite is an excellent stone to use in meditation. Place it on your forehead and contemplate the situation on which you are working. Ask for guidance in making the decision. If you feel yourself coming up with old solutions just because they're familiar release then and allow sodalite to clear the path for new ideas. Sodalite is not one of the flashier stones; it doesn't sparkle or shine. Its energy is quiet, calm, and deep as the midnight sky.

Properties: This stone is most recognized for healing, meditation and wisdom. This a good stone for general communication for self and writing. It is used for expressing logic and ideas due to its connection with the Throat Chakra. It is also used at the Brow Chakra due to the fact that it can access fine levels of intuitive information and promote the understanding of these concepts. It is also known to enhance community relationships. Considered a stone that is still evolving, sodalite can strongly affect changes in your attitude about yourself. It helps you be more objective and less critical about ways of dealing with existence. It is a stone associated with studying. This stone should be worn or carried around as a touch stone for a long period of time in order to reap its full benefits. 

Folk Remedies: Known for balancing body energy levels via thyroid, pituitary, lymph, and other glands. Helps insomnia, as well as neck, mouth, hearing, and blood sugar issues. This stone is cooling and is used for drawing out infections, cooling burns, sinus inflammation and high blood pressure. Suggested for balancing the metabolism. Beneficial for the cleansing organs and can boost the immune system. Effective in combating the effects of natural and artificial radiation and is recommended for those who work around X-ray equipment or are involved with radioactive material. This stone's Latin name, sodanum is said to mean "a cure for headaches". Too much of this stone can be exacerbating to anyone who is already in a long termed depressed state. 

Feng Shui: Used in the East area for community, in the Southwest for relationships, Northeast for wisdom, North for career and South for success.

History: Sodalite is found in North America, as well as in Brazil and France. The mineral structure of Sodalite often makes it confused with Lapis Lazuli. Sodalite is named for its high sodium content and often has veins of white.

  I have been making this wonderful Medicinal Pickled Garlic for years Here is the original recipe that I use. I want to share with you. I use this in recipes when I need some healing magick or just on it's own for real strength and healing. It is so good and so good for you. Medicinal Pickled Garlic

With cold and flu season coming up soon once again I am thinking ahead this year so I am making some medicines to have ready to fight back fast. According to Gladstar’s book, “Garlic is the herb of choice in treating colds, flu, sore throats and poor or sluggish digestion… makes a potent internal and external antiseptic, antibacterial, and antimicrobial agent effective for treating many types of infection.” That is some powerful stuff!  There is much more information in the book, it is a wonderful addition to your homesteading or prepping library. Peeled garlic cloves (enough to fill a jar) Raw apple cider vinegar Raw Local Honey Fill a mason jar with garlic cloves; use any size jar you like.  Fill the jar with apple cider vinegar to cover the garlic completely.  Place the jar in a warm place for 3-4 weeks.
